I loved this show when it was on every weekend, I used to watch it religiously. Then I would head up and go to the places I just saw on the show .

Porcupine Mountains State Park has a lot - waterfalls, trails, rivers, small mountain scenery and more, but I never hear anything about the 23 miles of beautiful Lake Superior shoreline that is has. To me, that's the best feature of the park.

Great episode! We love Ludington, just got back from a 4 day trip there for my daughter’s birthday end of July, perfect beach weather! The state park beach, Jamesport Brewery, moseying downtown, and Maritime Museum are all faves!

The Camel Riders Restaurant has unfortunately closed. The restaurant can now be rented along with the other Camel Riders Resort cabins to stay in through airbnb. Enjoy your trip and thanks for watching Great Getaways!

The forests that rebuilt Chicago after the fire of 1871. Same year fires ravaged Michigan towns as well but lesser known to history. The logging boom had dwindled by then but these forests rebuilt Chicago and towns of Michigan up to Wisconsin.
