Hi Tom. What was the previous name of Great Getaways oh maybe 15 years ago? Can I watch previous episodes? There was a kewl show about shipwrecks on Lake Superior I would like to watch. Thank you.

Our show was called "Northern Experience" before it became Great Getaways. You can find information about episodes of Great Getaways in our online archive and you can watch many past episodes at our YouTube Channel. The show that you remember about shipwrecks might have been a PBS special called "Ghosts & Guardians" produced by Great Getaways which is no longer available.I hope that information is helpful. I remember the haywire train going between Manistique and Shingleton. Several of my uncles worked on the haywire. The tracks ran in front of our house and when we heard the train coming up the track we would run out and have them ring the bell on the caboose. ❤️

The owner of the Delaware Mine Tom Poynter sadly passed away in September of 2023 at 77 years old but his daughter and husband bought the mine and will continue on the family tradition of keeping the mine tours going.

This was awesome. We just returned from a week in Mackinaw City. Your program made us regret we didnt do more than relax along the lakeshore. After watching this we want to jump back in the car and return. Can't do that but we are starting our bucket list for our next return based on your wonderful coverage of all Michigan UP has to offer. This is truly God's Country!

Just wanted to send a note and tell you how much I have enjoyed your program over the years! I love the positive attitude and the highlighting of this great old state of Michigan and surrounding areas!
I live in Southwest Michigan, Kalamazoo County and I have property in Dickinson County in the Upper Peninsula. Have hunted up there for over 40 years. My wife and I go to Ludington many times during the summer. We feel so blessed to live here and are lucky to have programs like this. Cuz when I can't be there, I turn on your program even when life is crazy and it gives me great joy and peace!
Thank you to the host and the producers of this fine program with all the garbage on TV. You should be very proud of what you have accomplished! Thanks again and God bless.
